What Indy Means is a new documentary project that explores the Indianapolis 500 from a personal viewpoint -- what the race means to drivers, teams and fans. There are so many stories about the cars, the drivers, the races and the Speedway's rich 100 year history. This film will get beneath the surface and get to the heart of just what motivates people to come from all over the world to attend the race, what keeps the tradition alive for generations in a family, and why this annual event is so special to so many people. This will be a huge undertaking and the filmmakers will count on help from so many people, including the Speedway officials, television broadcasters, teams and sponsors, drivers and crew, and most importantly, the fans that watch the race all over the world, and those who make the annual pilgrmage to Indianapolis in the month of May.
This conceptual trailer conveys some of the emotion and the scope of the project, and more clips and trailers, including filmmaker interviews and behind the scenes footage, will be posted as they are made ready. We look forward to hearing from YOU about what the Indy 500 and the IndyCar racing series means to you, your friends and your families. Chris Sheridan Nov. 18, 2011 |
