Simply put, transformation is the process of life itself, ever changing, and we must change with it - consciously.
Most philosophies, religions, arts and sciences all agree that there are Universal laws which always operate, like cause and effect, and that there is a way we can tune ourselves to this flow and live a life of harmony and peace instead of one of discord and distress. It's not that the negative outside events of life - fear, loss, pain, death, etc. - are somehow eliminated or reduced...rather, it's by the deliberate and counscious act of adusting ourselves to move with the natural order, that even the most difficult events can be seen as beautiful transitions in life.
CLASSES:
I have been teaching personal transformation for years, and am in the process of making available earlier recordings and writings, as well as making new lectures, classes, video clips, etc. For now, you can download and listen to a class I gave about the Personal Paradigm Shift.
of transformative figures, or those who have gone through deep and meaningful transformations and have brought back some insight as a result, these stories can be transformative in themselves, and help someone through their difficult parts by hearing the tale of another that not only endured similar or worse cifcumstances, but have gained something to share in the process.
Also, putting one's own story on paper can help put it into perspective and take much of the weight off the burdensome parts. I did this in my personal documentary film, "Walk This Way," where I tell the story of how I broke my back in a plane crash and used comedy to help heal through the transformation and adjust to being in a wheelchair:
Also, here are a couple clips from a 2008 cable access show where I was interviewed about Walk This Way and personal transformation:
GRATITUDE. Cultivating a sense of gratitude can go a long way to erase regrets, resentments, disappointments. Just by being grateful for what you do have, or can still do, you can point yourself toward new possibilities and away from old impossibilities.
