Welcome to my Journey
In over a half century of living, I’ve had a number of amazing experiences and I’ve picked up a few things along the way. Some have served me well and others have worn out their usefulness. Now at mid-life, I am challenging what I think I know, including my deepest held beliefs, in exchange for a fresh next chapter…one that honors my past and frees me for the future.
From growing up in the 1960’s and 70’s, playing in rock bands in the 80′, breaking my back in a plane crash in the 90’s to university degrees, addiction and sobriety in the 2000’s, my journey has been full of twists and turns, ups and downs, colorful characters – and always an adventure. I will share from my past accomplishments and failures, as well as provide my perspective on events and issues that interest me today.
Old Meets New
My generation is one bridges the gap between two world views, particularly with the digital revolution. I came of age before personal computers, the internet, cell phones, political correctness and even before AIDS was a thing. I don’t know if my childhood years were any more innocent than today, and I don’t want to look back with rosy glasses, but I am glad I have a sort of dual perspective on things.
Many skills I once learned are now obsolete, and I have had to re-learn other things in a new way. I have come to embrace things that never existed before…and try to keep up with this fast-changing world.
This is the point of view and historical perspective from which I will share my thoughts on many subjects, including disability, healing, film, music, philosophy, religion, politics, science, the arts, and many more, here on my BLOG.
